HISTORY
VTV began as Vanderbilt Video Productions in September 1985. The organization's initial focus was videotaping events produced by other student organizations and the production of a video yearbook. The organization evolved into a television station in 1992 and began to shift its focus on producing original programming created by students for students. The group officially became VTV in 1997.

AUDIENCE
VTV cablecasts 24 hours of programming a day during the academic year on Channel 6 of the campus cable system. The programming may be seen by all residential students and by others on campus who have access to cable, and is streamed live on the internet.

STAFF
The VTV executive staff is comprised of three students who fill the roles of Station Manager, Manager of Business Affairs, and Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator. Additionally, some 50 students work as on-air program crew members, technicians, and on-camera talent.
